Coaching is client-centered and client-directed: The client is considered the expert in their life.
It is strength based: The coach helps the client identify the client’s strengths and successes, and assists the client with leveraging those strengths to accomplish what they desire most for their wellbeing and life.
It is a partnership: The coach and client work together to build resiliency skills so the client can perform at optimal levels, even in challenging situations.
What will we work on together?
The coach will facilitate the client in designing a personalized wellness vision for their life, the ultimate picture of what the client desires for their life. Once the wellness vision is defined, the client and coach will collaborate on designing goals or “experiments” to facilitate making progress towards the wellness vision step-by-step, and improving performance in all aspects of life.
How often will the coach and client meet?
The coach and client will meet regularly, depending on the needs of the client, to discuss the established goals/”experiments”, celebrate the successes to generate motivation and build confidence, and make adjustments from any challenges experienced with the short-term goals, as needed. Client and coach will regularly develop new goals to generate momentum and progress towards the client’s wellness vision.
What about the coach’s expertise? Will I learn anything?
The coach will share expertise based on the desires, goals, and safety needs of the client, all with the intention of helping the client generate new ways of thinking, gain knowledge, experiment with techniques to while discovering and assessing whether the techniques are the right fit for the client’s life and personal preferences. The coach will help the client recognize their growth and mastery of skills, and continue to support the client’s motivation as the client continues to strive for peak performance and well-being.
